PROJECT OVERVIEW
EXPRESSIVE TYPOGRAPHY WAS THE RESEARCH REPORT SECTION OF MY MAJOR PROJECT,
‘CHAPTER TWENTY TWO’. THE BRIEF WAS OPEN, ALLOWING FULL CREATIVE FREEDOM IN BOTH CONCEPT AND DESIGN CHOICE. THE DESIGN HAD TO HAVE CLEAR CONSIDERATION OF LAYOUT, COLOUR, TYPOGRAPHY AND IMAGE PLACEMENT TO PRESENT THE WORK IN A COMPELLING
MANNER TO THE READER.

THE MAIN DISCUSSION IN THE REPORT WAS ABOUT THE PERSONALISED READING EXPERIENCES
OF GEN Z (14-24), USING THE TOPIC OF THE REPORT I DESIGNED TWO SEPARATE EDITIONS OF
THE REPORT, A BLACK VERSION AND A CREAM VERSION, TO REFLECT THE PROJECTS CENTRAL THEME OF ENGAGING GEN Z WITH READING IN A DIGITAL AGE BY ADAPTING BOOKS TO BETTER
SUIT THEIR PERSONAL NEEDS AND PREFERENCES. THE USE OF MIXED TYPOGRAPHY SYMBOLISES THE VARIETY OF READING STYLES AND THE DIVERSE AUDIENCE WHO CONNECT WITH LITERATURE.
