REIMAGINING BOOKS
PROJECT OVERVIEW
THE PROJECT INVOLVED DESIGNING A SET OF LIMITED EDITION ALBUM COVERS BASED ON THREE BOOKS BY A FAMOUS AUTHOR. THE THREE MUST BE DESIGNED AS A SET AND PRESENTED AS SUCH. EACH COVER SHOULD CAPTURE THE MOOD, STORY AND KEY IDEAS OF THE BOOK WHILE REFLECTING THE WIDER THEMES ACROSS THE AUTHOR’S WORK.

PROJECT CONCEPT
THE AUTHOR I CHOSE WAS NEIL GAIMAN. I USED THREE OF HIS MOST POPULAR BOOKS TO CREATE A COLLECTION OF VINYL COVERS. I CREATED AN ENTIRE COLLECTION CONSISTING OF THE VINYLS, TRACK CARDS AND QR CODE CARDS FOR CORRESPONDING SONGS. THE DESIGN WAS INSPIRED BY KEY ELEMENTS OF EACH STORY, GIVING YOU AN INSIGHT INTO THE STORY MUCH LIKE A BOOK COVER WOULD. THE TRACK CARDS HAVE REPEATING ELEMENTS AND THE CHAPTER TITLES AS IF THEY SONGS ON THE RECORD.
